Flipcause Marketing Website

In addition to the Flipcause product, the company displays marketing pages on its main site flipcause.com. As the main designer on staff, a part of my role was to create and update pages for the marketing site. In the version pictured here, the site was built using the Mazel Bootstrap template and then adapted for Flipcause’s brand requirements. I designed static page layouts working with research, content, and feedback from the Customer Experience team. I also created original assets and prototypes to demonstrate interactivity. I was additionally responsible for the execution and live release of the marketing pages, managing developers and a Quality Assurance team to bring the marketing pages to life.

Background

The marketing site has gone through 3 major redesigns between 2015 and 2022. For the first version, I assisted with designing new pages, modifying content, and creating graphics. I also helped maintain the company blog and wrote content regularly for The Modern Nonprofit. I continued to write for The Modern Nonprofit weekly while I was in my MFA program between 2016-2018.

The Modern Nonprofit, Flipcause’s marketing blog, centers around tips and tricks to running a nonprofit. I wrote for the blog between 2016-2018.

The second version, launched in 2017, was created by the Product Lead using the Mazel Bootstrap template as a base. When I returned to work at Flipcause after completing my MFA, I took over the design and product development relating to the marketing website. This involved building and modifying pages directly in HTML and CSS and submitting these files, along with any newly created graphics, to our engineering team, who would push them to our servers and add any additionally needed code. I was also responsible for QAing these pages on our test and live servers to ensure they were properly executed and rendering on all devices.

In 2019, the Home page got a complete overhaul, devised by the Product Lead and Experience Director. Using the specs they created, I designed an interactive prototype of the new Home page with dynamic sections, updated assets, and a floating sidebar. As the marketing website Product Manager, I collaborated with the engineering and QA teams to perfect the page’s development before launch.

The current version of the site was recently released in July 2022 and is the project of the Experience Director and another staff designer. As a stakeholder, I provided feedback on the project as it progressed.

Site Design

Below are some examples of marketing pages I designed at Flipcause. Using the specs created by the Experience team, I created mockups for each page, which included designing the page layout, choosing stock images, and drawing custom graphics. Occasionally, I also was tasked with writing copy for the marketing pages. I additionally managed the product development of the site, working with engineering and QA teams to push each update through launch.

These two screens showcase the Home page launched in 2019. I designed and created interactive prototypes for the page layout and sidebar, and chose and edited images featured on the page. and Click here for a video of the full page.

These screens show the Universal Checkout page, which details one of Flipcause’s campaign features. For this page, I chose the featured banner and designed the page layout. I created the graphics on the page, using After Effects to create a video preview demonstrating how Universal Checkout works on a campaign while displaying within a mockup device. I also used Illustrator to design additional graphics for the page. Click here for a walkthrough.
