CNA/NNU: Placards, Buttons, Brochures, & Social Media

I worked as a graphic designer at the California Nurses Union (a subset of National Nurses United, the largest nurses’ union in the USA) for 16 months, designing print and digital media for several divisions of the organization, including CNA, NNU, and the Robin Hood Tax Campaign. These assets were utilized in real campaigns, meetings, organized protests, and other live events, as well as on the social media pages of each division.

Social Media Graphics

Below are examples of social media graphics I designed for campaigns relating to CNA, NNU, and the Robin Hood Tax. These have been posted (and are periodically reposted) to the respective organizations’ accounts on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. I designed these using Illustrator and Photoshop, creating both original illustrations and incorporating assets provided to me via the organizations’ style guides.

Buttons & Stickers

These are some of the buttons and stickers I created for CNA and NNU, which were worn by nurses, techs, and organizers to promote efforts spearheaded by the union.

Placards

I designed the following placards for National Nurses United, which were used at the 2012 NNU Convention. These are just a few of the many placards and protest signs I created for print during my time at CNA/NNU.

Banners

Below is an example of a large-scale banner I created for the 2012 Thanksgiving Sutter and San Jose Strike.

Brochures, Flyers, & Labels

Here are examples of other print work I created at CNA/NNU. From the top left, there is a flyer for the digital version of NNU magazine, a 2-page brochure for a Collective Patient Advocacy course, National Nurse, and a large placard label for a food drive organized by NNU. I created all flyers and brochures with InDesign.
